The stage is set for what should be an electrifying showdown Saturday in the 5A state championship game. At noon at Jane Sanders Stadium on the University of Oregon campus, the Dallas Dragons (25-3) and Lebanon Warriors (21-5) will meet for the third time this season with everything on the line. The Dragons emerged victorious in both previous meetings, winning 7-1 and 8-5.
The Dragons have dominated their competition all season defensively. Led by junior Kadence Morrison in the circle, Dallas is tied for the least amount of runs allowed in all of the 5A classification. But it hasn’t just been their defense that has guided them on this run. Their offense has reached new heights and led all teams in the Mid-Willamette Conference in runs scored and ranks inside the top seven in 5A in the same stat.
